Torre del Mar is one of those places best enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Its three-kilometre-long promenade invites you to start the day with a coffee overlooking the Mediterranean, cycle along it to the lighthouse and round off the afternoon at one of the beach bars on Las Yucas Beach, where grilled fish on a skewer is practically an institution. It is a relaxed, family-friendly destination with a life of its own, far from the crowds of the Western Costa del Sol.
To get around the area, a compact car is the most convenient option: the streets in the centre are narrow and parking during the high season requires a bit of manoeuvring. If you prefer an automatic, we also have models with automatic transmission to make your journey even more relaxed. And if there are several of you travelling or you want to pack all your beach gear for a full day at the beach (parasols, cool boxes, chairs, boards), an estate car or a 7- to 9-seater people carrier is much better suited to your plans.
What you pay when you book is what you pay when you collect the car: a fixed price from the outset, unlimited mileage so you can explore the Axarquía without worrying about the odometer, and no deposit required when collecting the car if you pay by credit card. No last-minute charges or hidden extras added at the end of the process.
We’ll deliver your car to your accommodation
In Torre del Mar, drop-off and collection are free of charge, whether you’re staying at a hotel in the town centre or at one of the campsites in the area.
We’ll meet you at a time that suits you best, take you to the accommodation, go through the contract and hand over the keys. When you return, simply leave the car parked nearby and hand the key in at reception; our team will collect it without you having to wait.
The drop-off times are Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:45 to 18:15, and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 12:45. If your return flight departs from Malaga, you can also drop off the car directly at our airport office: for rentals of less than a week, a €30 surcharge applies for the one-way service; for longer bookings, there is no charge for this service.

Day trips from Torre del Mar
Just a few kilometres from the seafront promenade, a different side of Andalusia unfolds: the inland region, with whitewashed villages nestled in the mountains, vineyards and viewpoints that offer a fresh perspective on the journey.
Ten minutes inland lies Vélez-Málaga, the historic capital of the Axarquía, with its Moorish fortress, the Villa district and a Thursday market well worth a visit. Heading further up into the mountains, in half an hour you’ll reach Cómpeta, one of the most characterful white villages in the area, famous for its muscatel wines and the views of the Mediterranean that open up from its streets. And if you fancy heading down to the coast, a fifteen-minute drive west takes you to Rincón de la Victoria, a great half-day outing combining a visit to the Cueva del Tesoro (the only sea cave open to the public in Europe) with a stroll along its long seafront promenade.
For a longer day out, you can be in Antequera in an hour, where the dolmens—designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site—await you. It’s a place that takes you by surprise: you set off expecting to see mountains, only to find yourself strolling amongst five-thousand-year-old megalithic structures.

How much does it cost to have the car delivered to my accommodation in Torre del Mar?
There’s no charge. We’ll deliver the car to your hotel or campsite in Torre del Mar free of charge, and collection at the end of your stay is also included in the booking price.
What are the delivery times in Torre del Mar?
We deliver Monday to Friday in two time slots: from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 17:45 to 18:15, and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 12:45. When you make your booking, please let us know which time suits you best and we’ll arrange it with you.
Can I leave the car at Málaga Airport at the end of my trip?
Yes. If you’re staying in Frigiliana but flying from Málaga, we can arrange it for you: we only charge a €30 surcharge for rentals of less than a week. For longer bookings, there’s no extra charge for leaving the car at the airport.
Are you able to collect the car outside normal opening hours?
The drop-off and collection service at accommodation in Torre del Mar is limited to the timeslots indicated. If you need to arrive or depart outside these times, a convenient alternative is to collect the car directly from our office in Torrox, which is the closest to Torre del Mar.
What do you need to have ready for collection?
Your ID card or passport, a driving licence held for at least one year, and a credit card in your name as security. If you only have a debit card, we can still arrange this: a deposit of €350 will be required, which you will get back when the contract ends. The minimum age is 21 and there is no upper age limit. A second driver is included in the rate.
