Our history: Thirty years of service
A small office in Almuñécar, a handful of cars, and the summer of 1996 ahead of us. That’s how it all began. We started with a simple idea: to offer a car hire service that met the needs of tourists visiting the Costa Tropical who were looking for more than just sunshine. Three decades on, that idea remains at the heart of everything we do.
As the years went by, our brand began to grow and evolve. First came Rent a Car Costa, followed shortly afterwards by Autos Bahía, and finally Bahia Sexi Rent a Car. Each change marked a new chapter, always with the same mission: to offer an honest, high-quality service. With each stage, the family grew too: today we have five branches between Málaga and Almuñécar, with a friendly, approachable team that has a clear goal: to ensure that picking up your hire car is the best way to start your journey.

Rent a Car Costa opens in Almuñécar: a small office, big ambitions, and a friendly, reliable car hire service on the Costa Tropical.
First expansion
We are growing and evolving as Autos Bahía: we have opened our second branch in La Herradura and are strengthening our presence on the Granada coast.
New look
We’ve revamped our brand and colour scheme and are now known as Bahia Sexi Rent a Car: a fresher, more recognisable identity, closely linked to Almuñécar and the Costa Tropical.
Off to Málaga
We’ve opened an office at Málaga Airport: a key step that connects us with travellers from all over the world on the Costa del Sol.
New headquarters
Our Almuñécar office is moving to Paseo de San Cristóbal: a larger, more modern space that reflects our growth.
Eastern Costa del Sol
We’re continuing to grow: we’ve opened an office in Torrox Costa and expanded our coverage along the Malaga coast.
We arrived in Nerja
We are opening a branch in Nerja, one of the coast’s most iconic destinations, further expanding our network of branches.
A new era: BayGo
Thirty years on from that first day in Almuñécar, we are taking the most significant step in our history: BayGo is born, a new brand identity that looks to the future without forgetting where we came from.
