Enjoy your hire car in Frigiliana
Frigiliana is renowned as one of the prettiest villages in Spain, and when you stroll through its old town, you can see why: cobbled alleyways, white-washed façades covered in bougainvillea, and corners that look as though they’ve been plucked straight out of the 15th century. But to stay only here is to miss out on what’s around you. With your own car, you can drive down to the coves of Maro and Nerja in fifteen minutes, visit the Balcón de Europa without worrying about opening hours, and head up to the Sierra de Almijara whenever you fancy a walk amongst the chestnut trees.
To get around the area, we recommend a compact car: the roads in the Axarquía are winding and narrow, and a nimble model makes day-to-day driving much more comfortable. If you prefer not to change gears, automatic versions are the obvious choice. And if your plans include exploring the coast with family or a group, an estate car or a people carrier will provide space for everyone without compromising on manoeuvrability on these roads.
Your booking includes everything you need: comprehensive insurance with no excess, unlimited mileage and a free additional driver, so you can share the driving without paying extra. The price you confirm when booking is exactly what you’ll pay when you collect the car, with no last-minute charges.
We’ll deliver your car to your accommodation
In Frigiliana, drop-off and collection are free of charge. We’ll arrange a time with you, drive the car right to your hotel’s door, and there we’ll sign the contract and hand over the keys. When you leave, simply park the car nearby and leave the key at the reception of your accommodation; our team will take care of the rest without you having to wait for anyone.
Collection times are Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 13:00 and from 17:30 to 18:15, and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00. If you’re flying from Malaga at the end of your stay, you can also drop the car off directly at our airport office: we charge a €30 surcharge for rentals of less than a week, and there’s no charge if your booking is for longer.

What our customers say

Hotels we serve in Frigiliana
Although Frigiliana is small, its accommodation options are full of character. Most are boutique hotels and rural guesthouses scattered throughout the old town and the outskirts, all with that Andalusian charm that has made the village famous. Here are a few places we usually drive to:
In the heart of the old town, we recommend Miller’s of Frigiliana, a small boutique hotel right on Calle Real with a hot tub on the terrace and plenty of English charm. Just a few steps away, on the same street, you’ll find El Torreón 109, a B&B housed in an old village house with a rooftop pool and views over the rooftops. On the outskirts, where the mountains begin, is La Posada Morisca, a rural hotel with an infinity pool, terraces overlooking the sea and its own restaurant. And for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere, we also recommend the Hotel Rural Almazara, set in a peaceful spot amongst olive trees and offering views of Frigiliana from above.
All accommodation in the village is within our usual delivery area. Just let us know where you’re staying when you book, and we’ll sort out the rest with you.
Day trips from Frigiliana
You’re in one of the most easily accessible spots in the whole of the Axarquía. The mountains and the coast meet at your feet, and from here you can quickly reach some of the most photographed spots in southern Spain.
Just seven kilometres down the road lies Nerja, with its famous Balcón de Europa, its coves with turquoise waters and the Nerja Caves, one of the most impressive karst formations in Europe. If you fancy something a bit more secluded, carry on to the coves of Maro, a sheltered stretch of coastline you can reach in fifteen minutes and where snorkelling is almost a must. And for a morning in a white village with fewer tourists than Frigiliana, Cómpeta is half an hour’s drive up through the vineyards.
Fancy going a bit further afield? You can be in Granada in an hour, and the Alhambra is within easy reach without having to get up at the crack of dawn to catch a bus. Spending the day among the Nasrid palaces and returning for dinner on the terrace of your accommodation in Frigiliana is one of the memories you’ll cherish most from a trip to the south.
