    If you’re staying near the coast, a compact car is the most convenient option. If you’re planning to explore Andalusia—the white villages, the Alpujarra, Córdoba, Ronda—an SUV or an estate car will give you the space you need for that sort of trip. And if there are several of you travelling, a people carrier offers extra seats and boot space without splitting the group up. Check how many suitcases you’re taking before choosing a car category, as it’s common to arrive from the airport with a full load of luggage.

    Our office at Málaga Airport is just a few minutes’ walk from the terminal. We’ll be waiting for you when you land and will take you there in our free shuttle, so you can get to the office without having to worry about transport or your luggage.

    From here, the roads open up quickly. In less than 20 minutes you’re in Málaga’s historic centre; in an hour, in Marbella or Nerja; in two hours, in Granada, Córdoba or the white villages. Having your car ready as soon as you land is what makes an airport the real start of your journey.

    What you need to collect your car

    To ensure that collection goes smoothly and without any hitches, please bring a few things with you when you visit the office.

    Documentation. We require the main driver’s ID card or passport and their physical driving licence, which must have been held for at least one year. If you’re coming from outside the European Union, please check before you leave whether your country also requires an international driving permit. It would also be helpful to have your booking reference to hand; this will be sent to you by email once your booking is confirmed.

    Security deposit. We will require a credit card as a security deposit. It does not need to be in the name of the main driver, but the cardholder must be present at the time of collection. If you only have a debit card (Visa or Mastercard), we will process the security deposit as a €350 deposit, which will be released when you return the car.

    Age. To drive with BayGo, you simply need to be at least 21 years old. There is no young driver surcharge and no upper age limit.

We also don’t apply a young driver surcharge or have a maximum age limit: from 21 years old to wherever the road takes you, everyone rents under the same conditions.

    You have 24-hour roadside assistance, 365 days a year, so if something unexpected happens — a puncture, a breakdown, whatever it may be — there’s someone at the other end of the line. And if your flight lands outside normal office hours, we’ll still be there for you: your flight time shouldn’t dictate when your journey begins.

    How do I collect my car when I land at Málaga Airport?

    When you land, we’ll meet you in the designated area at the airport and take you on our free shuttle to the office, just a few minutes’ drive from the terminal. There, we’ll hand over the keys, go through the car with you, and in a few minutes you’ll be ready to set off.

    What happens if my flight is delayed?

    Don’t worry: we’ll keep an eye on your flight and be ready for you when you land, without you having to do a thing. If there’s a significant delay or your flight is cancelled, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make alternative arrangements.

    Can I collect the car outside office hours?

    Yes, we’re here to help. Our normal office hours are from 08:00 to 21:00, every day. If your flight lands outside these hours, an out-of-hours service charge applies, which is automatically added when you make your booking, so you can see the cost before you pay and there are no surprises later on.

    Where do I return the car when I get back to the airport?

    During normal office hours, please return the car to the same office where you collected it. We recommend arriving between two and two-and-a-half hours before your flight to allow time to return the car, catch the shuttle back to the terminal and go through security without any stress.
    If your outbound flight is outside office hours, we’ll arrange this with you at the time of collection and explain how to proceed to ensure a smooth return.

    Can I pick up the car at the airport and return it to a different branch?

    Yes. We have four additional branches between the Costa del Sol and the Costa Tropical (Almuñécar, Nerja, Torrox Costa and La Herradura), so you can pick up your car here and return it wherever suits your plans best. This is what we call our one-way service: free for hire periods of 7 days or more, and with a fixed charge of €30 for hire periods of less than a week.
